Cancun

 IAH - CUN
Honeymoon - January 2016

We chose Cancun for our honeymoon trip because we found a good deal. We paid $123 each RT for the flight (Spirit at the airport) and we booked our hotel via Bookvip.com at $700 for both of us all inclusive. Money was very tight because we literally closed on a house and got married within a 3 week span.

Shuttle:

We booked roundtrip transfer with USA Transfers. Once we walked out of the airport we located the representative from USA Transfers who placed us to the side until our driver arrived. We waited roughly 10 minutes or so. You are able to purchase drinks in front of the airport while you wait. The ride was smooth and comfortable. And our driver was on time for our departure as well. We had no issues at all. We paid around $115 for roundtrip transfers.
The vans are clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Drivers were courteous and professional.

Hotel:

We stayed at Sandos Cancun Lifestyle Resort next door to Secrets the Vine. Upon arrival we were given wet towels to clean ourselves with, a rose and a glass of wine. We were seated and spoke with the Royal Elite clerk who gave us information regarding the resort, put on our wristbands and told us she would be our concierge should we need anything. We also went ahead and made reservations for their steakhouse Gaijin, for later in the evening. We checked in early and our room was unavailable so they checked our bags and we headed out to the beach/pool area.
At the time Sandos only had 3 restaurants open: Gaijin (Steakhouse), St.Trop (Beach/Pool Restaurant) and Zango (Their Buffet) open. Room service is available 24 hours and is fully included.
There are 2 large pools and no jacuzzi. There is a full gym including spa. Spa services can be purchased if you're interested. There are beds around the pool and several directly on the beach. But you must get one pretty early to get a prime location. I noticed that some people would come down early put their things on one and then go to breakfast.
The activities crew was awesome and called Mr.C Captain America the entire 5 days we spent there because he wore a Captain America shirt on the first day. There was always an activity going on which kept things interesting. However the nightlife was rather boring. There was only one bar coincidentally named "Bar One" where you could dance and drink. But there are vendors on the beach who will sell you passes to Coco Bongo and other activities.
Non motorized water activities are included but you have to go to Aqua World to utilize the facilities. You can also buy motorized water activities for Aqua World at the resort. We purchased scuba diving and walked down to Aqua World on day 3. You can opt to take a bus for around 1 USD or a taxi. Aqua World is set up on the bay

St.Trop

We stopped to enjoy the view and then headed to the beach restaurant St.Trop. There they serve an assortment of items including fresh oven baked pizzas, wings, ceviche, nachos and quesadillas. St.Trop also has a full bar and provides service to the beach, the pools and St.Trop. We ordered all of the above just to try it out and everything was good. But we especially fell in love with the Ceviche. Once we were finished we were able to go up to the room where our luggage had already preceded us.
